BBQ, low n‘slow, pit master and smoker fanatics LOVE Chipotle but we know not everyone's always so keen on the intense heat that often comes with jalapeno peppers. So, we wanted to do something a little different- make a rich and smoky rub that works well on brisket, ribs, steak and in slow-cooked beef dishes that the whole family can also enjoy. With espresso, white balsamic flakes and red pepper there’s a very satisfying intensity that is balanced with a little natural coconut sugar. It’s also amazing blended with panko crumb on white fish and sprinkled over tomatoes and hummus.
Ingredients: Freshly ground and blended in New Zealand from locally grown and imported gourmet ingredients: Tomato Flakes, Spanish Smoked Paprika, Chipotle (Smoked jalepeno peppers), Cumin, Onion Flakes, Organic NZ Kosher Sea Salt, Red Pepper Flakes, Cracked Black Pepper, Oregano, Natural Coconut Sugar, Garlic, White Balsamic Vinegar Flakes and Coffee.
How to use: Drizzle a little oil on steak, beef brisket, short ribs and kebabs, then sprinkle over a heaped teaspoon of rub per serve. Great with tomatoes and sprinkled over hummus. Wait 5-10 minutes to develop flavour or leave in the fridge for at least 6 hours to marinate big joints or ribs and to help tenderise tougher cuts. Use a medium heat to barbecue, grill or fry the pork. For best results use a frypan or baking tray to retain the caramelised juices. Once cooked to your liking take meat off the heat, wrap in foil and let it rest for 2-10 minutes. You’ll then be rewarded with beautiful, tender meat. Enjoy!
